Thankful Thursday - Katie's Story

Leigh told me that 1 out of 26 people are diagnosed with epilepsy… I did not know that for a while until I met her. 

I love Empowering Epilepsy!! I l love communicating with the people that have epilepsy and hearing from the family members. I also want to help other people that have epilepsy because I remember as a kid (or even as an adult) that I did not tell many people… I regret even telling my close friends. 

Also, for the ones that live with epilepsy… 

Please keep going even though it is very hard. I was diagnosed when I was 6 years old. I am 30 now. I had Brain Surgery in December of 2020. That surgery to get rid of my seizures worked! My life is completely different because of that Brain Surgery!!
