Help Us Change the Conversation
Empowering Epilepsy is a grassroots nonprofit 501(c)3 public charity organization created by people with epilepsy in Northeast Ohio for people with epilespy. Our events are either free or low cost thanks to donations from people, families, businesses, and foundations like you.
Whether helping the Empowering Epilepsy community as a whole, or donating in honor of or in memory of a loved one, each donation to Empowering Epilepsy helps support our mission to enable people with epilepsy and their families to take charge of their lives

Ways to Donate
Donate to support Empowering Epilepsy or to honor or in memory of someone who has experienced epilepsy.
Many companies financially match the non-profit donations of their employees with their matching gift programs
Steps to Getting Your Company To Match Your Donations:
-
Request a Matching Donation Form from your company’s HR Department.
-
Submit it to Empowering Epilepsy along with your gift.
-
Empowering Epilepsy will verify the completed form and return it to your company.
-
Then, your company will send a matching contribution to Empowering Epilepsy.
Some companies even double or triple the donation.
Ohio Companies include: Eaton Corporation, First Energy Corp, General Electric, General Motors, Goodyear, KeyCorp, Moen, Nationwide Insurance, Nestle, PNC, Progressive Insurance, and Sherwin Williams. Our EIN is 47-1250482.
Benevity

Charitable Giving Incentives
In response to COVID-19, The CARES Act—the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act—is a $2.2 trillion stimulus plan that contains funding opportunities for charities and enhanced charitable giving incentives. Click the Charitable Giving Incentives to learn more.
Enhanced Charitable Giving Incentives
-
Temporary Universal Charitable Deduction—Taxpayers who do not itemize their deductions can take a one-time deduction of up to $300 for gifts made to charitable organizations.
-
The provision is intended only for the year 2020; however, in the text of the bill, it states taxable years “beginning in 2020 …” and does not include a sunset date, thus it conceivably could extend beyond 2020.
-
The deduction is ONLY for gifts of cash made in calendar year 2020 and does not cover other types of gifts or contributions made to donor-advised funds or private foundations.
