Finding Strength in Vulnerability: Carolina from The Bachelor Opens Up About Epilepsy

If you’re a fan of The Bachelor, you know that behind all the roses and drama, there are real people with real stories. This season, Carolina Quixano brought an incredible dose of honesty and strength to the screen when she opened up about living with epilepsy.

In a recent episode of Bachelor Happy Hour, Carolina shared more about her journey, revealing just how much courage it took to share something so personal on national TV. “I was really worried that having epilepsy would prevent me from being chosen,” she admitted. “It’s affected me in jobs before… I didn’t want to not be chosen because of that.”

But by choosing to be vulnerable, Carolina helped raise awareness for a condition that affects millions — and often goes unseen. She even shared that she’s never met anyone else with epilepsy.

That’s where we come in.

At Empowering Epilepsy, we know how isolating epilepsy can feel. Carolina’s story is a reminder that no one should have to navigate it alone. As she put it so powerfully:

“Everyone’s epilepsy is different, and that’s a good place to start… Don’t be afraid to ask questions as long as you’re being respectful and coming from a place of wanting to learn.”

We applaud Carolina for using her platform to spark understanding and empathy. Her words are a call to action — for kindness, for curiosity, and for creating a world where people living with epilepsy feel seen, supported, and empowered.

If you’re living with epilepsy or want to learn more, we’re here to help. 💜
