Office Manager - Non-Profit

A. JOB SUMMARY:
Empowering Epilepsy was founded in 2014 by people with epilepsy, for people with epilepsy in Northeast Ohio. We bring people together who understand epilepsy to help them discover what they can do while living with seizures, and create a meaningful community.
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Office Manager will take primary responsibility for managing general office tasks and administrative duties, as well as making sure things are running smoothly to help us build and hold programs to bring those with epilepsy together for fellowship and support. Empowering Epilepsy seeks someone ready to improve our client experience by providing a welcoming and directive experience to help people with epilepsy and their loved ones discover what they can do either in person or by phone.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee and support all administrative duties in the office and ensure that the office is running smoothly.

Serve as the point person for office manager duties including office maintenance, mailings, equipment and supplies, managing bills, errands, and shopping for event supplies.

Record event donors, manage solicitation mailings, track event registrations/attendees and coordinate proper acknowledgement process through our donor database.

Assist with financial aspects: making deposits, collecting and scanning monthly receipts/bills.

Support company operations by maintaining office systems and assisting staff.

Provide general support to visitors in a welcoming and engaging manner

Answer and direct phone calls.

Schedule meetings and appointments for office staff

Design and implement office policies by establishing standards and procedures.

Maintain the condition of the office, and arrange necessary repairs

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Support logistics coordination for annual conferences.

Develop and maintain the calendar of upcoming events and fundraising opportunities.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
B. REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent

Valid Driver’s License required.

Two to three years experience in an office setting managerial position

Must be independent and self-motivated, and support a fast-paced work environment that requires attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to problem-solve on the go.

Sound judgement and excellent communication skills.

Strong ability to organize, prioritize work to meet rigid deadlines, and pay attention to details.

The ability to be flexible, as events do not always happen within regular business hours.

A desire to learn about epilepsy and understand and appreciate the importance of the mission.
